Nice Matters Awards

When I stared this journal I did it to keep my friends and family informed of my ongoing breast cancer treatment. Little did I know I would make so many journal friends. Terri from You think you know, but you have no idea...picked me for the Nice Matters Award.  Now I have the opportunity to pick five people to pass it on to!

Thank you Terri you are such a sweetheart. I enjoy reading your journal and you have been here for me through everything! You are such a good journal friend and have given me so much support.

So here are my five..this was really hard to do because there are so many of you out there!

Stephanie from in perpetual motion...She is a great lady who is a mother to twin boys. I love reading about their adventures. She is also a breast cancer survivor who went through it with me. She lives in Hawaii and is a military wife. She also ran a marathon recently and I admire her for that after all she has been through with Breast Cancer.

Jackie from Hope Floats She is also a cancer survivor and has been there for me so many times. She knows just what to say to make me feel better and she is so sincere. She has two beautiful grandsons who are the light of her life!

Irene or Rene as her family calls her from Meet Me at the Breakfast Table. She writes about her daily struggle with stage IV ovarian cancer. She has a really close family that loves her. She is a special person that has been through so much and still manages to see the good in everything.

Barbara from Just Another Day In The Life Of Me She is one of the sweetest ladies I know. She has been through so many things in her life. She lost her son in a car accident and then a year later was diagnosed with Inflammatory Breast Cancer. Now she is dealing with lymphedema. We shared many emails during our treatment and became friends. She doesn't write in her journal as much as she used to but she tries to keep us updated.

Linda from Sangria Two She is a mother to five and a grandmother to one. She has a busy life but still finds the time to have fun! I read her journal and wish I could do the cool things she does! Her twin boys just turned 18!

Now Stepanie, Jackie, Irene, Barbara, and Linda you have to snag your Nice Matters Award and choose  5  people to give the award to.  Have fun!!

Please go and visit these journals and you will see why I picked these great ladies!!!

Thanks again Terri!!

Here we go again

And  here we go again. Really? Really?!!! My biggest fear has come true. After eleven years of looking over my shoulder this stupid cancer has come back. I'm more pissed off than scared. Every year I was cancer free, I would announce to anyone that would listen, "it's been five years since I was diagnosed with breast cancer, it's been ten years since I was diagnosed with breast cancer" I just reached eleven years in August of 2017 and said with pride, "it's been eleven years since I was diagnosed with breast cancer" This sucks! I am devastated. I just don't want to go through this again. I know what I'm in for......

Radiation begins!

I waited ten days to hear from someone about starting radiation and this morning I get a call saying, can you be here at 11:45? Yikes no time to think! I was really nervous about it. I called my mom and she came to my rescue. Today was actually a dry run, I start tomorrow and I don’t really have a schedule yet. I have to do it at their convenience because there are no regular time slots open. So starting tomorrow I will go everyday except Saturday and Sunday for 7 weeks for a total of 35 treatments. That means I will end some where around June 12. I heard it takes longer to change your clothes than it does to do the treatment. Today I had to lay on the table in the little form they made for me and this huge machine rotated around me and they made sure everything was lining up right. They also gave me a little bar code on a card that I have to scan everyday and it lets them know I am there for treatment. Then I go into the changing room and change into my lovely gown. Then I just wai...

I have good news!

My mom is finally home! I went picked her up today. She is feeling really good. And I have great news! Her thyroid biopsy was benign!!! We are so relieved. She has to follow up with the cardiologist in 2 weeks but they seem to think that her heart rate was dropping due to the surgery because all of her tests came back good. I took her to get her prescription and she was so happy because it only costs $4.00! She has to be on it forever so she was worried it was going to cost a fortune. Sam’s Club has a deal with certain prescription drugs and they are all $4.00! So if your paying a lot somewhere else go check out the list and see if your drugs on there. I asked the guy if there were any chemo drugs and he laughed and said are you kidding me! lol I did see the lidocane that I use on my port to numb it before chemo, and I pay a higher copay with insurance so I may be going there soon. As for me I am having a really good day. I feel great. I have chemo on Monday, so just like last ti...
