When Life Gives Cancer, Make Lemonade!

We have a big weekend ahead. The Relay is Saturday and I plan on staying there from 7 a.m. Saturday until 10 a.m. Sunday!  I made all the lumanaria bags and they look so nice. We are having a fresh squeezed lemonade stand this year. The stand turned out so cool! I even thought of a slogan for it. "When life gives you cancer, make lemonade!" Sue painted it on the front of the stand and she did a great job. One problem we ran into was the cost of lemons. Sue went to the grocery store to check it out and lemons were 8 for  5 dollars!  I called around and found a wholesale produce company and they gave us a great deal. He was so nice and by the time we left he donated  2 cases! We got a megaphone for Jeff and he is going to round up customers.  He is so funny so this should be good.

I think my husband is falling apart! When I took him to the doctor for the Bell's Palsy we found out he has high blood pressure. He has been on medication for a month. They wanted to see him to make sure it was under control so I took him back to the doctor..(yes I took him...you know how men are) and I had a list of things for her to check. First they took his blood pressure and it was higher than last time even on medication. So he has to take it two times a day now...then I pulled out my list...He has been having knee problems for a couple weeks now. He told me not to mention it, but how could I not mention it to her when he is up squirming in bed like he is giving birth!!! So she sent him for x-rays and gave him medicine for that..then he has this weird looking thing on his leg that I had her look at and she agree's it needs to come off and sent in to see what it is. He also gets a migraine EVERY day so we talked about that too. Thank god I'm healthy...lololol!!!

I'm off to get things ready for the Relay tomorrow. I have so much to do!!! Pray that it doesn't rain on us.

Sorry to hear about your hubby.......i think i must be the female version of him because thats pretty much the same as my problems....added to that arthritis in back & spine , panic attacks, agoraphobia and numerous other stuff............ hey the way i look at it is i am still breathing and there are many people out there far worse off than me.

Take care Jayne

2nd Chemo down!

I had my second chemo on Monday and so far so good. Aside from a little fatigue and stomach stuff going on I'm doing ok. I may have overdone it yesterday though. I went to the Look Good Feel Better class that the American Cancer Society offers. It was wonderful! I have been volunteering with the Realy for Life for 4 years and I actually got to see what some of our money has been going for. My mom and Sue went with me. Then of course the lady that was running it had to go and do the tupperware introduce yourself game. I was the last one and when I opened my mouth I said my name and why I was there and how my family is here and how much they support me and I have 2 kids and then I started crying.....oh god! Then my mom and Sue were crying. I got over it once I opened the bag and saw all the goodies though. They gave me a big bag just filled with makeup, and I am talking good makeup! The kind I walk past in the department store and dream about! They showed how to put on your eyebrows ...

Not Feeling So Well...

Hi everyone, this is Trish's sister Sue again.  Trish has not been feeling too well and on Friday we had to take her to the ER department.  She is so weak and was very close to having pneumonia.  She has been on antibiotics for 12 days now and they are concerned about why she is not getting better.  Needless to say, we are very worried.  She feels a little better today, but is on oxygen and just has absolutely no energy.  They have been giving her breathing treatments since yesterday, and some other medicines in her IV.  They are bringing in an infectious disease doctor to see if they can pinpoint what is going on.  She will be there until at least Monday.  She has her scans (right there) on Monday too.  We'll keep you posted - please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

Mom's surgery

Having a long weekend. My moms still in the hospital, she is doing great with the surgery, but her heart rate slowed down. She saw a cardiologist this morning and they are running some tests on her to see what’s going on. We are still waiting for the pathogy report on her thyroid. The doctor said it looked good but that is the same thing they told my family when I had my lumps removed so I am waiting until I hear the final report before I celebrate! I spent all day Friday and Saturday with her. She kept telling me to go home and take a nap but I just wanted to be there with her. I finally asked her if she would leave me and she said no, and I said see mom I'm staying! I laid in a chair next to her bed and had a pillow and blanket and she said they are going to come in her and not know who the patient is....hee hee....I am on my way up there now and her only request is a bottle of Diet Vernors. I’m sure I'll find some other goodies to take her. She might come home today if all t...
