Happy Halloween!

Here are some pictures from our trip.

A lot has gone on since my last post. We took a trip up north to look at the colors. It was so beautiful. We left early Saturday morning and then stayed the night in Tawas Michigan.

For the most part we missed the peak color, but the trip was still nice and we did see some nice color. We had a great time and it was nice to get away just the two of us.
We stopped at Frankemuth on the way home and then we stopped at the famous "Tony's"
to get something to eat. My dad always took us there on the way home from up north. They give you so much food. Jeff blew his diet for one day but it was worth it. There is a picture of the BLT we ordered above. It had more than a pound of bacon on it and it was gooood!

We have been working at the haunted house for the little league. We did it every Friday, Saturday and Sunday for about 4 weeks. We have so much fun scaring people and laugh so hard when we get "screamers" that come through. My sister Pam and her husband Mike work there too and my sister Sue runs the whole show. Megan has been painting the trailers with spooky scenes and she does such a good job. Karen my niece also did a lot of the painting and they made it look really spooky!

Yesterday we took little Jeffrey to the cider mill. Before we left I stopped at Old Navy and bought a new winter coat for him. It was cold out and he had grown out of his snow suit from last year. He is a great little shopper. He let me try 4 coats on him before I could find the right one. Then we headed for the cider mill. He was so cute looking at all the pumpkins.
He was trying to pick them up and he was saying..."ball"... he thought they were balls. lol
I finally just bought him a little tiny pumpkin that he could carry and then we bought one to carve for Halloween. Then he started getting cranky and crying and carrying on. I forgot how miserable kids get when they don't get there way! I wanted to put him back in the stroller and he wasn't having it. I finally got him buckled in and headed for the car with a screaming grand baby. He is such a good little boy though. I have so much fun with him.
Oh, He is going to be a pirate for Halloween. His costume is so cute.

Jeff had a doctor's appointment today to follow up with his sugar and weight loss. He is doing fantastic! He has lost about 14 pounds. His blood pressure is good, and his sugar is under control.
She even said that if he loses 10 more pounds he may be able to go off the blood pressure medication. Then she turns and looks at me and says....you need your flu shot...huh? what?
Next thing you know, I am being poked with a flu shot! Damn! I just went to support Jeff and I get the shot! No fair!!!!!

I'm having a hard time adding pictures so I will do another post later with more pictures once I figure it all out. I have some pics of the hauted house and the cider mill!
Have a Happy Halloween!!!!!

Not Feeling So Well...

Hi everyone, this is Trish's sister Sue again.  Trish has not been feeling too well and on Friday we had to take her to the ER department.  She is so weak and was very close to having pneumonia.  She has been on antibiotics for 12 days now and they are concerned about why she is not getting better.  Needless to say, we are very worried.  She feels a little better today, but is on oxygen and just has absolutely no energy.  They have been giving her breathing treatments since yesterday, and some other medicines in her IV.  They are bringing in an infectious disease doctor to see if they can pinpoint what is going on.  She will be there until at least Monday.  She has her scans (right there) on Monday too.  We'll keep you posted - please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

My last Oncologist appointment for a while!

I went to the Oncologist last Wednesday and he reassured me that everything is fine! I am so happy. I have been so worried but he walked in the door and I said, “hi, it’s your two favorite people” (me and My mom) and he said your right! Then he said “congratulations!” Your MRI came back clean! I don’t have to go back and see him for 3 months. You don’t know how happy that makes me. I am so sick of that place. He said to go ahead and make the appointments to get my port out and he also thinks it is a good idea like my surgeon suggested that I get the colonoscopy at the same time. I have to call and make the appointment this week. Yay! I get to have my port out. Besides the boy haircut I have the port is one of the last remaining reminders that I HAD breast cancer. I like saying HAD! He also put me on some medicine for the neuropathy that I am having. (arms and feet going numb) He said it is nerve damage from the Taxotere. That was one of the chemo drugs I was on. I also have to take Cen...

My Sister Sharon, My Inspiration

I have something I want to share with everyone. Some of you know my sister Sharon died from breast cancer. What you don't know is that she was a great writer. I have read her thoughts before but now they have a whole new meaning to me. When I would read them I would always think about what she must have been going through at the time, and now I know. She was an inspiration to me and to everyone around her. Here is something that I came across that I can relate to in certain ways. I know I have some friends out there that have had mastectomies that will find this a great inspiration. It is called Self Love. Today I will make friends with the area of my body that has been through surgery. I will look at myself in the mirror and not think of myself as disfigured just because I look different. I will focus on the fact that once, where there used to be a mound of flesh, there is now a flatter more hollow surface that, when touched, puts me that much closer to my heart and soul.  I wi...
