The girl in the plastic bubble.

I went to the oncologist today for my second bag of antibiotics. The chest x-ray came back and  it looked good. My counts are still low so I have to go back in the morning and have more blood drawn. In the mean time I can't leave my house until my counts are back up, only to go to the doctor. When I was sitting there with my mom we were watching the food network and I was actually wanting food, so we started talking about where we were going to go out to eat after we left the doctor and the nurse said, "you can't go to a restaurant you can't be around anyone right now!" Me and my mom looked at each other like huh, what?  There goes the bean and cheese chimichanga I was dreaming about. Then she told me I have to come back tomorrow for more blood work and "we will see how your holiday is going to go!"  This might put a damper on my day after Thanksgiving power shopping! She also said if I get a fever over 100 to go to the emergency room. They want to get me better so I can have my fourth treatment on Monday. I feel pretty good other than a slight headache and a cough, and a few chemo induced hot flashes. lol

I posted some pictures from the baby shower. I felt so good that day! It was so nice to get dressed up. If the nurse only knew 3 days ago I was hugging and kissing everyone at the baby shower she would drop her I.V bag!

The quilt is a family tradition that we do for all the new babies in the family. Everyone makes a square and we make it into a quilt. It turned out so nice. I still have the one that was made for me for my shower. It is such a nice keep sake. I will unpack it and take a picture.

I love that I have an excuse to relax on the couch the rest of the night. The American Music Awards are on! I love stuff like that.

Good news about the chest x-ray.  Too bad you couldn't celebrate with the chimichanga.  I love Mexican food.  I love your wig.  It looks very natural and very complimentary.

Sorry you have to stay at the house, but it could be worse. Hey-maybe you can get a surgical mask like Michael Jackson wears in public LOL. I know bad joke, I was trying to make ya smile.

You looked wonderful, very pretty. Glad you had a good time. My son got a quilt at my baby shower, I just found it at my MIL while cleaning out her apartment! Brought back a lot of memories.

You look beautiful Trish!!  I would have never known that was a wig, if you hadn't said anything!  They are making wigs so real looking now, that if you pay a fairly decent price for one.. they look darn good!  I'm so happy to hear that you had a good time at theh shower, AND that your chest Xray came back good!  That is just fantastic!! :)

As far as staying away from people.. I know it's a drag.. but, better safe than sorry, right??

Happy Thanksgiving, Trish...
Sending many prayers and Blessings your way

Trish, I want to say you look just great! Part of me says I won't ever get a wig, I will make do with the scarves and hats I got. But then I see you looking so good and it looks so natural, I am starting to have second thoughts. As I mentioned in Kim's journal, for some strange reason, I cant add an entry to my journal. I am logged in. Stranger tho, is that I can add to anyone else's. So I just want to let you guys all know I am still around, just havent even had the energy to climb up the stairs and turn on the computer. Hope you all have a fabulous holiday, and I will write when I am able get in my journal. Barbara

Here we go again

And  here we go again. Really? Really?!!! My biggest fear has come true. After eleven years of looking over my shoulder this stupid cancer has come back. I'm more pissed off than scared. Every year I was cancer free, I would announce to anyone that would listen, "it's been five years since I was diagnosed with breast cancer, it's been ten years since I was diagnosed with breast cancer" I just reached eleven years in August of 2017 and said with pride, "it's been eleven years since I was diagnosed with breast cancer" This sucks! I am devastated. I just don't want to go through this again. I know what I'm in for......

Radiation begins!

I waited ten days to hear from someone about starting radiation and this morning I get a call saying, can you be here at 11:45? Yikes no time to think! I was really nervous about it. I called my mom and she came to my rescue. Today was actually a dry run, I start tomorrow and I don’t really have a schedule yet. I have to do it at their convenience because there are no regular time slots open. So starting tomorrow I will go everyday except Saturday and Sunday for 7 weeks for a total of 35 treatments. That means I will end some where around June 12. I heard it takes longer to change your clothes than it does to do the treatment. Today I had to lay on the table in the little form they made for me and this huge machine rotated around me and they made sure everything was lining up right. They also gave me a little bar code on a card that I have to scan everyday and it lets them know I am there for treatment. Then I go into the changing room and change into my lovely gown. Then I just wai...

I have good news!

My mom is finally home! I went picked her up today. She is feeling really good. And I have great news! Her thyroid biopsy was benign!!! We are so relieved. She has to follow up with the cardiologist in 2 weeks but they seem to think that her heart rate was dropping due to the surgery because all of her tests came back good. I took her to get her prescription and she was so happy because it only costs $4.00! She has to be on it forever so she was worried it was going to cost a fortune. Sam’s Club has a deal with certain prescription drugs and they are all $4.00! So if your paying a lot somewhere else go check out the list and see if your drugs on there. I asked the guy if there were any chemo drugs and he laughed and said are you kidding me! lol I did see the lidocane that I use on my port to numb it before chemo, and I pay a higher copay with insurance so I may be going there soon. As for me I am having a really good day. I feel great. I have chemo on Monday, so just like last ti...
